dc.description.abstractEl presente documento describe el desarrollo de la investigación titulada “Saberes en torno al autocuidado del adulto mayor hipertenso atendidos en la especialidad de medicina interna del Hospital Universitario Departamental De Nariño en el año 2023”. La cual se realizó con el objetivo de explorar los saberes y creencias que tienen los adultos mayores frente a la hipertensión, los cuales fueron adquiriendo estos conocimientos a lo largo de su vida y de su enfermedad, los cuales se basan principalmente en una dieta balanceada, ejercicio, buenas relaciones interpersonales, buena adherencia al medicamento, con el fin de mantener sus cifras tensionales dentro de rangos de normotensión y de esta manera evitar complicaciones que afecten su calidad de vida. Frente a lo encontrado durante la investigación y los vacíos que hay en el departamento se planteó los siguientes objetivos: Identificar los saberes y creencias en torno al autocuidado del adulto mayor, definir los saberes en torno al autocuidado físico en adultos mayores con hipertensión, describir los saberes encaminados al autocuidado psicológico en adultos mayores con hipertensión, reconocer los saberes frente al autocuidado social en adultos mayores con hipertensión; los cuales se evaluaron mediante una entrevista semiestructurada, orientada desde el paradigma cualitativo y cuantitativo, con un enfoque “histórico hermenéutico” y un método etnográfico, obteniendo datos de una muestra de 80 pacientes los cuales cumplieron a cabalidad los criterios de inclusión. Abstract This document describes the development of the research entitled "Knowledge regarding self- care of hypertensive older adults treated in the internal medicine specialty of the Departamental University Hospital of Nariño in the year 2023." The aim of this research was to explore the knowledge and beliefs held by older adults regarding hypertension, which they acquired over their lifetimes and illness, primarily based on a balanced diet, exercise, good interpersonal relationships, and adherence to medication, in order to maintain their blood pressure levels within the normotensive range and thus avoid complications that affect their quality of life. Based on the findings and gaps identified during the research, the following objectives were proposed: to identify the knowledge and beliefs surrounding self- care of older adults, to define the knowledge regarding physical self- care in older adults with hypertension, to describe the knowledge aimed at psychological self- care in older adults with hypertension, and to recognize the knowledge regarding social self- care in older adults with hypertension. These objectives were evaluated through a semi- structured interview, guided by both qualitative and quantitative paradigms, with a "historical hermeneutic" approach and an ethnographic method, obtaining data from a sample of 80 patients who fully met the inclusion criteria.
